The Revd Gideon Para-Mallam
Gideon Para-Mallam is an ordained minister and a gifted Bible expositor who is frequently invited to speak at conferences, universities, and churches across Africa and around the world. His passion is to see Africa transformed with kingdom values and is working on a 5-year strategic mentoring initiative that focuses on raising 100 younger leaders in Africa.
Gideon has been involved in leadership with the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students and other organizations, local and global for over thirty years. He served as Regional Secretary for IFES in English and Portuguese Speaking Africa (EPSA:2008-2017). His most recent position was an Ambassador for IFES, 2018-2019. Earlier, Gideon had served in different leadership roles including: Associate Regional Secretary for IFES in English and Portuguese Speaking Africa (EPSA: 2002-2008). He was National Director of the Nigeria Fellowship of Evangelical Students (NIFES: 1993-2002) and Director of Campus Ministries (1989-1992).
Gideon graduated with a BSc major in Political Science and minor in International Relations (1983) from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria. He also earned an M.A. in Communications (1999) from the highly respected Wheaton College, IL, USA.
Gideon is married to Prof. Funmi J. Para-Mallam, mni, the Director of Studies (DOS) at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Nigeria. They are blessed with 5 children – three adults and 2 teenage twin girls.
